There are more secrets in the quiet village Wülsten an der Löhne than it seems at first sight. Mathilda and Finn hear a mysterious rumour concerning the local bathing lake. Out of the blue, the lake has to go in order to make room for a new leisure park. And what’s more, head boy Sören and his family behave kind of suspiciously. The friends are sure: there is something shady going on!
Mathilda has a rather rough start in her new picture-perfect home: her grandfather has disappeared, her new classmates think she’s weird for talking to her potted plants, and she accidentally makes an enemy of the golden head boy on her first day. The town’s talent contest is the only bright spot in this dreary place. At least it could be, if everyone’s projects weren’t sabotaged and Mathilda and her new friend Finn the number one suspects. To clear their names, they have to start their own investigation, save the contest – and figure out where Mathilda’s grandfather actually went …
