You'll instantly recognize writer and illustrator Sarah McIntyre in her pointy specs and flamboyant hats. Born in Seattle, she studied Russian at university, then studied illustration ten years later. Sometimes she writes and illustrates her own books and other times she makes books together with friends. Living in a block of flats in London, she's met neighbours from Portugal, Nigeria, Cameroon, China, Italy, Brazil, Germany, Romania, Ireland, Poland and South Africa, and she loves hearing their stories. Her books have been translated into more than 25 languages, and her studio is always bustling with new characters and brightly coloured pieces of fabric she finds at her local street market.
