Im Land der weißen Schokolade

Czechoslovakia, 1980: The West – that’s the land of boundless opportunities, of Matchbox cars and white chocolate. For Martin, it’s a vague promise and far from the reality he lives in. He’s just trying to get through school and impress his crush Ivanka, the leader of his pioneer group, by miming the perfect socialist even though he couldn’t care less about the ideology. Then his parents inform him they are going to flee to West Germany to escape the oppressive regime in Czechoslovakia. Suddenly, the vague promise turns into something real – and potentially dangerous … certainly, the adventure of his life!
