Fritz Fassbinder had been travelling the world with the ‘Schulschiff Deutschland’, the last full-rigged ship of the German merchant shipping, for two years before studying telecommunications. He has worked abroad and for a spacelab mission of the European Space Agency. Today, he works in the police environment, which motivated him to write a crime story for children. In his free time, he reads and writes, climbs steep mountains or runs the New York City Marathon.

Sonja Kurzbach was born in East Frisia in 1983. She completed an apprenticeship in graphic design in Bremen before moving to Berlin in 2013 when she won a scholarship for the Academy of Illustration and Design. Since graduating in illustration design in 2017, she has been working as a freelance illustrator and part-time employee at a design and communication agency in Bremen.
